Structural Engineer
A well-established structural engineering consulting firm in Phoenix, Arizona is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer to join its growing team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across commercial, residential, education, healthcare, institutional, hospitality, and mixed-use sectors. Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for new construction, tenant improvements, seismic retrofits, and renovations.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and construction documents.
- Develop structural plans and details utilizing industry-standard design software.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, owners, and other engineering disciplines throughout project execution.
- Conduct site visits and field observations to verify construction compliance and support project delivery.
- Participate in project meetings and assist with client communications.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and project requirements.
- Support construction administration activities, including reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis or related field.
- 3 to 10 years of structural engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure.
- Experience with steel, concrete, wood, and masonry design.
- Working knowledge of structural analysis and design software.
- Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, and related engineering tools.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Preferred Experience
- Structural design of commercial, residential, healthcare, educational, and mixed-use developments.
- Seismic design and retrofit experience.
- Construction administration and field observation experience.
- Experience working directly with clients and project stakeholders.
