📍 Location: Carlsbad or Loving, NM (Remote Field Role)
💼 Compensation: $110,000-$130,000 base + 10% annual bonus
🚚 Relocation Bonus: $10,000 lump sum for qualified candidates
Are you an experienced Electrical Substation Technician looking for your next challenge? We're hiring a Field Technician to join a leading grid infrastructure team in Carlsbad, NM. This is a high-impact role supporting substation inspection, maintenance, and emergency response across high-voltage (HV) and medium-voltage (MV) systems.

What You'll Do:
- Conduct monthly, annual, and ad hoc inspections of HV substations, transmission lines, and MV distribution systems
- Perform and oversee routine maintenance and contractor coordination
- Write and execute HV/MV switching instructions
- Respond to outages and troubleshoot electrical issues
- Communicate with clients and utility dispatch teams
- Maintain detailed logs of outages and service restoration
What You Bring:
- Direct experience in electrical substations (HV/MV)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings (one-line, relaying)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Familiarity with test equipment and safety protocols
- Willingness to travel and work in remote field environments
- Associate's degree or technical school equivalent
