About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee field operations on a variety of geotechnical and heavy civil construction projects throughout the Southeast. The Superintendent will be responsible for managing day-to-day site activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This role requires a strong field leader with experience in specialty foundation, earth retention, ground improvement, piling, drilling, or related heavy civil construction disciplines. The successful candidate will serve as the primary on-site representative, coordinating crews, equipment, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to deliver successful projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all field operations on assigned construction projects.
- Ensure strict compliance with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and project-specific safety plans.
- Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to maintain project schedules.
- Conduct daily planning meetings, toolbox talks, and site safety briefings.
- Monitor project productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Work closely with Project Managers to track budgets, schedules, production goals, and project milestones.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, production records, timekeeping, and project documentation.
- Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to ensure work is completed correctly.
- Communicate effectively with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Proactively identify and resolve field issues, delays, and potential risks.
- Manage quality control processes and ensure work complies with project requirements.
- Mentor and develop field personnel while fostering a positive team culture.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Superintendent experience within heavy civil, geotechnical, deep foundations, drilling, ground improvement, earth retention, or related construction sectors.
- Proven ability to manage multiple crews and complex field operations.
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling, site logistics, and productivity management.
- Experience interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
- Ability to travel as required for project assignments.
- Proficiency with construction reporting and project documentation tools is preferred.
