One of the top national land surveying firms in the industry is currently seeking a driven and motivated Survey Department Manager for their Charleston or Columbia offices. Surveying is the forefront of this organization's operations, with no reliance on engineering services, offering a rare opportunity to lead within a survey‑first environment. This position provides the chance to oversee and grow a high-performing survey team while contributing to complex, high-profile projects across South Carolina.

The Survey Department Manager will be responsible for…
* Leading and managing survey staff, including PLSs, crew chiefs, and technicians
* Overseeing project execution, quality control, and professional surveying standards
* Coordinating workloads, schedules, and resources across multiple projects
* Supporting business development efforts and maintaining key client relationships
* Assisting with hiring, mentoring, and long-term staff development
* Providing technical oversight on boundary, ALTA, topographic, and control surveys

The Survey Department Manager should have the following qualifications…
* Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license (South Carolina or ability to obtain)
* Proven experience managing survey teams or departments
* Strong technical background in land surveying and surveying operations
* Experience working directly with clients and internal leadership
* Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with technical involvement as needed
