Survey Manager
Position Overview: Licensed Land Surveyor
A growing civil engineering and environmental consulting firm is seeking a Licensed Land Surveyor to support the expansion of its surveying and civil engineering services in Arizona. This role involves both technical and leadership responsibilities, including overseeing field crews and office staff engaged in a variety of surveying tasks such as boundary, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, construction, and topographic surveys, as well as mapping and legal documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate multiple survey and mapping projects.
- Perform technical calculations and field adjustments to meet project timelines.
- Oversee project management tasks including scheduling, invoicing, and quality control.
- Supervise survey crews and office personnel, ensuring adherence to field and office procedures.
- Train and mentor staff, review survey methodologies, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Prepare and verify legal descriptions, maps, and survey calculations for various applications including subdivisions and roadway alignments.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional surveying experience.
- Registered Professional Surveyor (or ability to obtain licensure).
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficiency in land surveying principles, techniques, and technologies.
- Experience with topographic, boundary, and construction staking fieldwork.
- Skilled in preparing ALTA surveys, easement exhibits, plats, and legal descriptions.
- Familiarity with deed research, right-of-way plans, and utility coordination.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with GPS, robotic total stations, and conventional survey equipment.
- Leadership experience managing multiple crews and office staff.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Trimble Access, and Trimble Business Center.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to mentor and guide junior staff.
