Location: Fort Worth, TX
Overview:
Seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Survey Technician to support field operations for construction and land development projects. This role involves collecting and processing survey data using modern instruments and software, with a mix of outdoor and office work.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret engineering plans and compile data for construction staking
- Operate and adjust surveying instruments (GPS, total stations, prisms, theodolites)
- Assist with elevation readings and benchmarks
- Record accurate field notes, sketches, and measurements
- Perform survey calculations and verify data accuracy
- Conduct field surveys to locate natural and built features
- Locate property markers and control points
- Use land information systems to store and report data
- Set and recover stakes and control markers
- Maintain survey equipment and vehicles
- Perform physical tasks such as clearing brush and carrying equipment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's in Surveying preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with utility surveys and knowledge of overhead/underground utilities is a plus
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation preferred
- Proficient with GPS and total stations; adaptable to new technologies
- Willingness to work outdoors year-round and travel overnight within Texas and nearby states
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
