About the Role
We are seeking a Software Engineer to join a growing digital product and engineering team responsible for building and enhancing web-based applications that support both business operations and sustainability-focused initiatives.
This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone with strong React development experience, full-stack exposure, and an interest in building solutions that improve how organisations monitor, manage, and optimise their operational and environmental performance.
The successful candidate will work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and business stakeholders to develop scalable digital products that support customer experiences, operational workflows, data visibility, and sustainability-related objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain modern web applications using React and related technologies.
- Build responsive, intuitive, and user-friendly interfaces for internal and external users.
- Develop and integrate backend services, APIs, and application logic to support business and operational requirements.
- Work with databases, cloud platforms, and infrastructure components that support application delivery and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and sustainability-related requirements into technology solutions.
- Support the development of digital tools that improve operational visibility, resource management, reporting, and decision-making.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, performance bottlenecks, and system issues.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices, maintainable codebases, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support deployment processes, CI/CD workflows, and application monitoring activities.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve product performance and user experience.

Key Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of software engineering or web development experience.
- Proven experience delivering production-grade web applications.
Frontend Development
- Strong hands-on experience with React.js.
- Proficiency in modern JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Experience building responsive and scalable user interfaces.
Full-Stack Development
- Understanding of both frontend and backend application development.
- Experience integrating web applications with APIs, databases, and services.
Backend & APIs
- Exposure to backend development using technologies such as Node.js or equivalent frameworks.
- Experience building or consuming RESTful APIs.
Infrastructure & Cloud
- Familiarity with cloud environments, deployment processes, and DevOps practices is advantageous.
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, containerisation, or CI/CD pipelines is beneficial.
Collaboration
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively within agile, cross-functional teams.
Technical Skills
- React.js

Preferred Experience

- Exposure to sustainability, environmental data, operational efficiency, ESG reporting, carbon management, natural capital, or resource optimisation initiatives.
- Experience in consumer-facing, hospitality, attractions, tourism, conservation, or large-scale operational environments is advantageous.
