About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Sales & Business Development professional to drive growth in the Japan market. This role focuses on expanding client relationships and developing new business across assurance, certification, and sustainability-related services.

The position is well suited to individuals with a strong commercial mindset and experience engaging clients across areas such as sustainability, circular economy, and supply chain assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to grow market share in Japan
  • Identify and engage new clients while expanding relationships with existing accounts
  • Drive sales across certification, audit, assurance, and sustainability-related services
  • Analyse market trends, competitive landscape, and client needs to uncover opportunities
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to closing
  • Collaborate with technical and delivery teams on cross-selling opportunities
  • Build partnerships with external stakeholders, including consultants and industry bodies
  • Represent the organisation at events, conferences, and industry forums
  • Maintain strong customer engagement to ensure long-term client retention

Requirements

  • 8+ years of B2B sales or business development experience
  • Background in testing, inspection & certification (TIC), consulting, sustainability, or supply chain assurance
  • Experience in areas such as ESG, circular economy, responsible sourcing, or sustainability advisory is highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of management systems, audits, or certification frameworks (e.g. QHSE, ISO standards, supply chain audits) is advantageous
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building long-term client relationships
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent in Japanese with professional working proficiency in English
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required
