Traffic Engineer

Our client, a specialized traffic and transportation engineering firm with offices across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast, is seeking a Traffic Engineer to support private and public sector projects from their Charlotte office. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated engineer with 2+ years of experience to join a growing team and contribute to impactful work in a flexible, remote setting.

The Traffic Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Preparing traffic impact studies for private development projects
  • Supporting signal design, signing plans, and traffic control plans
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders across the Southeast
  • Assisting with field reviews, data collection, and technical documentation
  • Contributing to transportation demand management (TDM) initiatives
  • Supporting project delivery and client communication

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2-4 years of traffic engineering experience
  • Engineering background with EIT preferred
  • PE license not required
  • Familiarity with traffic analysis tools and design software (Synchro, Vissim, MicroStation)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a small, growing team

Location & Flexibility:

  • Fully remote with occasional visits to the Charlotte office (1 day a week max)
  • Office located in downtown Charlotte
