A growing multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join its expanding transportation team. This opportunity offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of traffic and transportation projects throughout New England while playing a key role in technical design, project delivery, and mentorship of junior staff.

Responsibilities
- Perform traffic engineering analyses, including:
- Traffic impact studies
- Signal timing, phasing, and sequencing
- Traffic data collection and analysis
- Traffic modeling and simulation
- Technical report preparation
- Develop engineering plans for:
- Traffic signal systems
- Intersection and roadway improvements
- Complete Streets projects
- Pavement marking and signage plans
- Temporary traffic control and construction staging
- Assist with preparing construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates
- Lead technical tasks on multiple transportation projects simultaneously
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across various offices
- Support client relationships through responsive communication and technical expertise
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineering staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in transportation, traffic, or roadway engineering
- EIT certification required; PE license or ability to obtain preferred
- Strong background in traffic and transportation engineering
- Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic (VISSIM experience is a plus)
- Experience with AutoCAD (Civil 3D and/or MicroStation preferred)
- Working knowledge of MUTCD standards and guidelines
- Familiarity with state DOT design standards and transportation agency requirements is preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
