Traffic/ITS Engineer
A respected engineering consultancy firm with a strong track record in transportation and public infrastructure is looking for a Traffic Engineer to join its team in either New York City or Trenton, New Jersey. This firm is known for tackling complex, high-impact projects that shape how communities move and connect. This role offers the chance to work alongside experienced engineers on transportation design projects that are both technically challenging and deeply meaningful- projects that will stand for decades and serve millions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze traffic systems to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Conduct traffic studies and develop comprehensive reports.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on various projects.
- Assist in managing project timelines and budgets.
- Develop and implement signal timing plans and traffic control strategies.
- Review and approve traffic impact analyses and site development plans.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in traffic engineering or a related field
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline is required
- PE license preferred
- Advanced degree & PTOE are a plus
- Proficiency in traffic analysis software (e.g., SYNCHRO, VISSIM) and relevant design standards
- Strong understanding of MUTCD, HCM, and AASHTO guidelines
