About the Role

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Transmission Line Lead to serve as a technical and project leadership resource for high‑voltage transmission line design and delivery. This individual will oversee engineering work, guide project teams, and ensure high‑quality technical output across multiple transmission line projects.

This role offers the flexibility of remote work while still supporting regional utilities and EPC partners across the Southeast.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead on transmission line projects ranging from 69kV to 500kV.
  • Oversee design packages, engineering deliverables, and compliance with utility standards and industry codes.
  • Provide guidance, QA/QC, and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
  • Collaborate with project managers, structural engineers, environmental teams, and construction partners.
  • Support project planning, schedule development, technical reviews, and coordination across disciplines.
  • Lead design decisions, analyze project risks, and troubleshoot technical challenges.
  • Assist with client interaction, scoping, proposal development, and design strategy.
  • Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in transmission line engineering or design.
  • Strong working knowledge of NESC, ASCE codes, and utility transmission standards.
  • Experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and related transmission engineering tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or guide project teams and deliver complex design packages.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and technical decision‑making skills.
  • Must reside in Georgia, Florida, or Alabama (remote role).
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field; PE license preferred but not required.
