Transportation Engineering Project Manager

My client, a locally rooted and highly respected transportation planning and design consulting firm in Seattle, is seeking a Traffic Engineering Project Manager to join their growing team. This role offers the opportunity to lead high-impact projects across the Puget Sound region-spanning both public infrastructure and private development sectors.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative, client-facing environment and enjoys delivering thoughtful, multimodal transportation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage traffic engineering and transportation design projects from planning through final design.

  • Lead traffic impact studies, intersection control evaluations (ICE), signal design, and operational analysis.

  • Develop PS&E packages for public agency and private development projects.

  • Coordinate internal engineering, planning, and CAD teams.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and reviewing agencies.

  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to business development and proposal efforts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field

  • Washington PE license (or ability to obtain within 6 months)

  • 5+ years of experience in traffic engineering, with at least 2 years in a PM or task lead role

  • Proficiency in Synchro/SimTraffic and traffic signal design

  • Familiarity with WSDOT, SDOT, and other local agency standards and submittal processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with multimodal corridor studies, safety projects, and Vision Zero planning

  • Knowledge of VISSIM, SIDRA, and HCS

  • Strong communication and client management skills

  • Experience supporting both public and private development clients
