Transportation Project Engineer (Phoenix)
I'm currently working with a client who is seeing a Transportation Project Engineer. As a Transportation Project Engineer, you will lead and support the planning, design, and delivery of roadway and transportation infrastructure projects. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions that improve mobility, safety, and connectivity across urban and rural environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design efforts for transportation projects including highways, arterials, intersections, and multimodal facilities.
- Prepare engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
- Perform geometric design, traffic analysis, and drainage design.
- Coordinate with clients, agencies, and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
- Oversee CAD and 3D modeling using tools like AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and OpenRoads.
- Conduct field reviews and site visits as needed.
- Mentor junior engineers and support quality control efforts.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Arizona or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- 4-8 years of experience in transportation engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and traffic analysis software.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel for fieldwork.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ADOT standards and procedures.
- Familiarity with traffic signal design, pavement marking, and roadway lighting.
- Knowledge of environmental documentation and permitting processes.
