Traveling General Superintendent
- Direct and coordinate trade contractors and subcontractors to ensure high‑quality work aligned with the approved project schedule
- Supervise construction operations for a large project or multiple concurrent projects
- Lead, mentor, and develop the project field team
- Manage general conditions and site services budgets
- Develop, document, and communicate work plans for field changes
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of contract documents to coordinate trades, plan work, and proactively address potential issues
- Ensure required permits are obtained and maintained
- Monitor safety performance across all trades; serve as the primary field safety leader and enforce quality and safety standards
- Plan and execute work‑arounds, shutdowns, and tie‑ins
- Lead contractor meetings and oversee daily reporting using project management software
- Communicate schedule status, updates, and changes to project teams and trade partners
- Coordinate and manage jobsite logistics
- Oversee and continuously improve the project quality plan
- Resolve jurisdictional and scope‑related disputes
- Establish credibility with owners, trade partners, unions, and other stakeholders through fairness, consistency, and professionalism
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Extensive experience leading large‑scale commercial or industrial construction projects in a superintendent or senior field leadership role
- Experience on life sciences or manufacturing projects is a plus
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
- Strong technical expertise and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to adapt to changing project needs and priorities
- Experience supporting business development efforts, interviews, and presentations
- Strong team‑oriented mindset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management platforms (e.g., Procore)
- Ability to interpret and manage construction documents and drawings
- Broad experience across construction methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control
- Deep understanding of construction safety practices and ability to enforce project safety plans
- Proven ability to foster a strong "safety‑first" culture
- Experience supervising and developing project teams
- Working knowledge of labor relations
- OSHA 30 certification
