Utah PLS
We are working with a client who is seeking a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our growing team in Utah. The ideal candidate will have experience in boundary, topographic, construction, and ALTA/NSPS surveys, and will be comfortable managing projects from field to finish. This role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to work on a variety of public and private sector projects across the state.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and oversee land surveys including boundary, topographic, construction staking, and ALTA/NSPS surveys.
- Prepare and review survey plats, legal descriptions, and mapping deliverables.
- Manage field crews and ensure accurate data collection and safety compliance.
- Perform QA/QC on survey data and final deliverables.
- Communicate with clients, engineers, and project stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
- Maintain and apply knowledge of Utah surveying laws, standards, and best practices.
- Utilize survey software such as Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center (TBC), and GIS tools.
Qualifications
- Active Utah PLS license (or ability to obtain via reciprocity).
- 5+ years of professional surveying experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS, and total station equipment.
- Strong understanding of coordinate systems, datums, and control networks.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Utah.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with drone/UAS surveying and photogrammetry.
- Familiarity with GIS platforms and data integration.
- Project management experience in both public and private sectors.
