VDC Coordinator - Plumbing (Remote)
Position Overview
The successful candidate will support the design and coordination of plumbing systems for projects including hospitals, industrial facilities, schools, retail spaces, and commercial buildings. This position offers flexibility for remote work and requires occasional travel to job sites for field verification and coordination meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D models and construction documents in compliance with project and company standards.
- Interpret and create layouts from P&ID drawings and flow diagrams.
- Participate in QA/QC processes to ensure model accuracy and constructability.
- Collaborate with project teams to coordinate plumbing systems with other trades.
- Attend site visits and coordination meetings as needed.
- Utilize BIM tools to support clash detection and coordination efforts.
- Produce plans, sections, and equipment schedules for engineering review and permitting.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in the MEP construction industry.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Autodesk Revit.
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems, including sizing and layout.
- Familiarity with BIM coordination platforms such as Navisworks, Revizto, or BIM Track.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience with mechanical design drawings and construction coordination processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Drafting degree or equivalent field experience.
- Knowledge of building codes and construction standards.
- Understanding of all MEP disciplines is a plus.
- Experience with database management is beneficial but not required.
