Lead Large-Scale Environmental & Infrastructure Operations Across Indonesia

An established project developer and operator delivering large-scale environmental and land-use projects is seeking an experienced Vice President of Operations to oversee a growing portfolio of field-based assets and programs across Indonesia.

This is a senior leadership position reporting directly to the executive team, responsible for translating strategy into execution, driving operational excellence, and ensuring safe, efficient, and commercially successful delivery across multiple project sites.

The Opportunity

This role is ideal for an experienced operational leader who thrives in complex, multi-site environments and enjoys balancing strategic oversight with hands-on execution.

You will be responsible for leading project delivery teams, strengthening operational governance, improving project performance, and building scalable systems that support long-term growth. The position will work closely with technical, finance, community engagement, environmental, compliance, and corporate functions to ensure alignment across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio & Operational Leadership

• Lead the execution of a diverse portfolio of field-based projects across multiple locations.
• Translate corporate goals into operational plans, performance metrics, and site-level objectives.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards.
• Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure delivery continuity.
• Drive consistency, accountability, and execution excellence across all operating assets.

Project Delivery & Team Management

• Manage and develop project managers, field leaders, and operational teams.
• Establish clear performance expectations and operational disciplines.
• Oversee planning, implementation, progress tracking, and reporting processes.
• Improve collaboration between headquarters and regional field teams.
• Lead operational reviews and performance management initiatives.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Partner closely with technical, environmental, community, legal, finance, HR, and compliance teams.
• Facilitate decision-making across functions and resolve delivery challenges.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

• Develop and strengthen governance frameworks, reporting systems, and operational standards.
• Improve planning, procurement, contractor management, and project controls.
• Introduce scalable processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Utilize data and performance metrics to support informed decision-making.

Risk, Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, health, safety, and internal governance requirements.
• Embed strong risk management practices across project operations.
• Oversee implementation of operational and environmental standards across all sites.
• Support a culture of safety, accountability, and responsible project delivery.

Resource & Stakeholder Management

• Lead operational budgeting, workforce planning, and resource allocation.
• Manage relationships with contractors, consultants, government agencies, partners, and local stakeholders.
• Support new site launches, expansion initiatives, and strategic growth projects.
• Maintain oversight of project expenditure and resource utilization.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of professional experience with significant exposure to operational leadership, project delivery, or multi-site operations.
• Proven experience leading large, geographically dispersed teams.
• Background in sectors such as:
  • Nature-based solutions
  • Carbon markets
  • Forestry
  • Conservation
  • Agriculture
  • Infrastructure
  • Mining, energy, or other field-intensive industries
• Strong project management, budgeting, resource planning, and operational risk management capabilities.
• Experience driving process improvement and operational transformation initiatives.
• Ability to engage effectively with regulators, contractors, communities, and senior stakeholders.
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia preferred.
