Our client, a top engineering consulting firm with a strong presence in Wisconsin's water resources sector, is seeking a Water Resources Project Engineer to support and lead infrastructure projects focused on stormwater, flood mitigation, and watershed management. This is a fantastic opportunity for a mid-level engineer to grow into a leadership role while contributing to meaningful, community-enhancing work.

Position Overview
The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise and project experience in water resources engineering, with a strong foundation in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, design, and regulatory compliance. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions across Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement stormwater management systems, erosion control measures, and flood mitigation strategies
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using tools such as HEC-RAS, SWMM, HY-8, and TR-55
  • Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and regulatory documentation
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams
  • Contribute to mentoring junior staff and support proposal development

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in water resources engineering
  • Wisconsin PE license preferred (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and water modeling software
  • Familiarity with WDNR and WisDOT standards and permitting processes
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
