Our client, a top engineering consulting firm with a strong presence in Wisconsin's water resources sector, is seeking a Water Resources Project Engineer to support and lead infrastructure projects focused on stormwater, flood mitigation, and watershed management. Position Overview
The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise and project experience in water resources engineering, with a strong foundation in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, design, and regulatory compliance. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions across Wisconsin.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement stormwater management systems, erosion control measures, and flood mitigation strategies
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using tools such as HEC-RAS, SWMM, HY-8, and TR-55
- Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling
- Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and regulatory documentation
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams
- Contribute to mentoring junior staff and support proposal development
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in water resources engineering
- Wisconsin PE license preferred (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and water modeling software
- Familiarity with WDNR and WisDOT standards and permitting processes
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
