About the Opportunity

My client is a well-established employee-owned engineering consulting firm with a strong reputation across the water sector and a significant backlog of water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout the Carolinas.

They continue to invest heavily in their water practice and are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to help lead complex projects, strengthen client relationships, and support continued regional growth. The Role

The successful candidate will lead the planning, design, and delivery of a variety of water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout South Carolina and the surrounding region.

You'll work closely with clients, technical teams, and leadership while overseeing project execution from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage water and wastewater infrastructure projects from planning and design through construction.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and mentor junior engineering staff.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans.
  • Coordinate with technical specialists and project delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Oversee preparation and review of technical reports, drawings, specifications, and design documents.
  • Manage project financial performance and risk.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with municipal and utility clients.
  • Support business development activities, proposal preparation, and client pursuits.
  • Identify new project opportunities within existing and future client accounts.
  • Stay engaged with industry trends, emerging technologies, and professional organizations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience within water and wastewater consulting.
  • Proven project management experience on infrastructure projects.
  • Strong client-facing, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
  • PMP, CCM, DBIA certification, or willingness to obtain within 12 months.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience delivering water and wastewater projects throughout South Carolina and/or North Carolina.
  • Alternative project delivery experience.
  • Background managing large, multidisciplinary infrastructure programs.
