About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Hydraulic Modeler to join a growing water and wastewater engineering team. This position involves leading hydraulic analysis, planning, and design for municipal water and sewer infrastructure projects. You'll collaborate with a skilled group of engineers on challenging projects focused on sanitary sewer collection systems and potable water distribution networks across the Mid-Atlantic region.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain hydraulic models for water distribution and sewer collection systems
- Perform calculations, prepare technical reports, and deliver project documentation
- Calibrate and validate models using industry-standard software and GIS tools
- Conduct system performance assessments and develop solutions for future capacity needs
- Support project planning efforts, including cost estimates and scope development
- Track budgets and schedules for modeling tasks
- Provide quality control reviews and ensure compliance with project standards
- Mentor junior staff and assist with client communications
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (ABET accredited)
- 8+ years of experience in hydraulic modeling and related engineering work
- Proficiency with modeling platforms such as InfoWorks ICM, InfoWater, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, or similar
- Strong communication and presentation skills
Preferred:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Familiarity with regional utility clients
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based with occasional field visits
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs when required
- Field conditions may include varying weather environments
