The opportunity to work within one of the leading MEP engineering companies in the country. We are seeking an Associate HVAC Engineer to join our Philadelphia office.
Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborates with their Department Leader (such as Director, Associate Partner, or Partner) to develop conceptual designs for projects and guides their team through project completion.
- Acts as the primary client contact on their projects.
- Manages and reviews all project-related documents, ensuring timely and accurate implementation.
- Oversees both the technical and functional aspects of project deliverables.
- Confidently presents and explains project designs in internal and external meetings.
- Regularly coordinates and updates the project team to meet design expectations and deadlines.
- Initiates and manages design changes, proposals, and approvals.
- Successfully executes multiple fit-out/renovation projects and/or large, complex projects from concept to completion.
- Utilizes staffing and project resources effectively, thoughtfully delegating projects to avoid work overload.
- Anticipates and responds decisively to project issues, modifying or changing project plans to resolve them.
- Establishes internal project schedules, ensuring optimal resource utilization and adherence to deadlines by driving their team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Proven experience and demonstration of all competencies expected of a Senior Project Engineer.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in design calculations and software tools relevant to the discipline (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD).
- Strong understanding of the trade-specific scope of projects, including proposals/additional services, trade-related codes (e.g., energy, building), and required coordination with other trades.
- Comprehensive knowledge of documentation requirements and content for each deliverable phase (e.g., SD, DD, CD, and specifications).
- Familiar with firm workflow and team production capacity, capable of establishing project schedules to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Manages and ensures team adherence to office procedures related to both design (e.g., archiving drawings, filing drawings and forms) and construction administration (e.g., updating shop drawing log, updating RFI log)
