Position Overview: We are seeking a Certified Asbestos Investigator to join our team in New York City. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and assessments of asbestos-containing materials in various structures, including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. This role requires expertise in identifying asbestos hazards, adhering to regulatory standards, and providing comprehensive reports to clients.
Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed inspections to identify asbestos-containing materials in buildings and structures.
- Collect samples of suspected asbestos materials for analysis in accredited laboratories.
- Document findings accurately and prepare comprehensive reports detailing asbestos presence, location, and condition.
- Advise clients on asbestos management strategies, including removal, encapsulation, or maintenance.
- Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations related to asbestos inspection and abatement.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a NYC CAI.
- Proven experience conducting asbestos inspections and assessments.
- Strong knowledge of asbestos-containing materials, sampling techniques, and abatement procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately document findings.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations, including NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
