Director of Corporate Land Acquisition
A leading independent power producer is looking to grow their team by adding a Director of Corporate Land Acquisition. This forward-thinking company is headquartered in Virginia and their goal is to be a leader in transitioning to clean energy. This role has various responsibilities which include managing Corporate Clients and creating new relationships with large timberland and agricultural landowners in the U.S to acquire land for utility scale solar development. This complex renewable energy company is seeking a strong communicator and negotiator that can aid the process of land and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Negotiate and acquiring new corporate land for solar sites
- Develop and manage corporate relationships with new and existing landowners with a focus on large timberland and agricultural landowners in the United States
- Engage with Land and Development teams to improve and create in depth analysis
- Work with Transmission and GIS and teams on initial site assessments
- Communicate with large landowner solar RFP's and working with the team to create strong proposals
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business or forestry (Master's Degree is preferred)
- Requires 5 or more years of forestry experience and site/easement acquisition experience
- 2 years of utility-scale site acquisition or similar experience
- Strong understanding of real estate contract conditions and terms
- Familiarity with the energy industry, more specifically utility scale solar
