They are committed to delivering exceptional technical expertise and innovative solutions, and are seeking a seasoned Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the team and lead the technical aspects of their TxDOT projects.
Position Overview: As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the technical components of TxDOT projects. You will be responsible for providing advanced geotechnical analysis, design recommendations, and ensuring the successful implementation of engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead geotechnical engineering efforts for a variety of TxDOT projects, including highways, bridges, and other transportation infrastructure.
- Conduct advanced geotechnical analyses and provide design recommendations based on soil, rock, and groundwater conditions.
- Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering professional development and growth.
- Ensure compliance with TxDOT standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize state-of-the-art geotechnical software and tools to enhance project outcomes.
- Participate in project proposal preparation and business development activities as needed.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and best practices to continuously improve technical capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of geotechnical engineering experience, with a strong focus on transportation projects.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery and management of TxDOT projects.
- In-depth knowledge of geotechnical principles, soil mechanics, foundation design, and ground improvement techniques.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software such as GeoStudio, PLAXIS, LPILE, and other relevant tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
