We are working with an offshore wind developer seeking a highly skilled and experienced High Voltage Specialist to join our team for an offshore wind project in Changhua, Taiwan. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of high voltage electrical systems within the offshore wind farm, in a fast-paced environment. This role is critical to the development, construction, and operational phases of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Development and Planning:
- Provide technical expertise in the planning and design phases of high voltage electrical systems for the offshore wind farm.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop high voltage system specifications and design criteria.
- Review and approve design documents, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Installation and Commissioning:
- Oversee the installation of high voltage equipment, including transformers, switchgear, and cabling.
- Ensure all high voltage installations comply with safety standards and best practices.
- Conduct testing and commissioning of high voltage systems, troubleshooting any issues that arise.
Operation and Maintenance:
- Develop and implement maintenance plans for high voltage equipment to ensure reliability and longevity.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance of high voltage systems.
- Coordinate with the operations team to address any operational issues related to high voltage equipment.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all high voltage work is performed in compliance with local and international safety standards.
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments related to high voltage operations.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on high voltage safety protocols.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical support and guidance to the operations team for high voltage-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any high voltage system failures or malfunctions.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest industry developments and technologies in high voltage systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in high voltage electrical systems, preferably in the offshore wind or renewable energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of high voltage safety standards and regulations.
- Experience with the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of high voltage equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
