This Northern California firm is seeking a talented and experienced Hydrogeologist with expertise in clean water management to join the team in the San Francisco Bay Area. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting hydrogeologic investigations, assessing water quality, and developing strategies to mitigate pollution and contamination in groundwater and surface water systems. With your technical proficiency and regulatory knowledge, you will provide valuable insights and recommendations to clients and regulatory agencies to support informed decision-making and ensure compliance with water quality standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct hydrogeologic investigations, including groundwater monitoring, well installation, and aquifer testing, to assess groundwater quantity and quality in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Perform water quality sampling and analysis, interpret data, and prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Develop and implement groundwater and surface water monitoring programs to track changes in water quality over time and identify potential sources of contamination.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, and regulatory specialists to design and implement remediation plans and clean water projects.
- Provide technical support and expertise to clients and regulatory agencies on matters related to groundwater and surface water quality, contamination assessment, and remediation strategies.
- Stay current on emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements in water quality management and incorporate them into project designs and methodologies.
- Participate in public outreach and stakeholder engagement activities to raise awareness of water quality issues and promote community involvement in clean water initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in hydrogeology, environmental science, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in hydrogeologic investigations, water quality assessment, and clean water management, with a focus on groundwater and surface water resources.
- Strong understanding of hydrogeologic principles, groundwater flow and transport processes, and water quality parameters.
- Experience with water quality sampling and analysis techniques, including field instrumentation and laboratory methods.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and requirements related to clean water management, including federal and state water quality standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in GIS, groundwater modeling software, and other technical tools used in hydrogeologic analysis and visualization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Professional certification (e.g., Professional Geologist) is a plus.
