The Offshore Substation O&M Manager will oversee the operation and maintenance of the offshore substation to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the offshore wind farm. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in offshore wind projects, particularly in the commissioning, operation, and maintenance phases, and will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful operation of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Maintenance Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance activities of the offshore substation.
- Develop and implement O&M strategies, procedures, and schedules to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Coordinate with the construction team to ensure smooth transition from construction to operational phase.
- Manage all aspects of the substation's electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage the O&M team, including technicians and engineers, ensuring high performance and effective teamwork.
- Provide training and development opportunities for the O&M team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
- Ensure all O&M activities are conducted in compliance with HSE regulations and company policies.
- Promote a strong safety culture within the team and the wider project environment.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage the O&M budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and adherence to financial targets.
- Oversee the procurement of spare parts, tools, and other necessary equipment.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical expertise and support for troubleshooting and resolving operational issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis of faults and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Stakeholder Management:
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and the client, to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Prepare and present regular reports on O&M activities, performance, and issues to senior management and stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement opportunities for improving O&M processes, efficiency, and reliability.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of offshore wind projects, with significant experience managing offshore substations.
- Strong knowledge of offshore wind farm systems, including electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Proven track record in team leadership and management within a similar role.
- Excellent understanding of HSE standards and regulations in the offshore wind industry.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in English; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
