We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Marine Expert to join our client's team based in the bustling city of Tokyo. Our client operates within the renewable energy sector to develop offshore wind projects, which are growing rapidly across Japan due to the increasing demand for sustainable power sources.
As a successful candidate, you will be the company's first Marine Expert in Japan and be working closely in the Operations and Engineering department to support offshore wind projects.

Key responsibilities:
1. Development:
- Assist in the development of offshore wind farm installation logistics for upcoming projects, emphasizing sustainable and safe marine solutions.
- Assist with procurement when drafting technical specifications, vessel charters, offshore transport and installation contracts.
- Make sure that the company's Marine Governance System reflects local maritime laws and regulations, and make sure that compliance is maintained while conducting offshore operations.
- Oversee the technical evaluation of maritime assets, including supply and survey vessels, during the initial phases of offshore operations, and make sure that the company's vessel standards are being adhered to.
- Interact with regional vendors to convey the company's comprehension of maritime operations and guarantee that mutually agreeable solutions can be achieved.
2. Construction
- Oversee the technical evaluation of marine assets, including CTVs, SOVs, cable layers, heavy lift vessels, and jack-up vessels.
- Keep an eye on the performance of the vasculature, and where necessary, identify and execute appropriate improvement solutions.
- Conduct vessel inspections and on-hire surveys to make sure that only technically sound boats are being hired.
- Organize and manage correspondence between various internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, certification, scheduling, HSSE, authorities, vessel suppliers, and marine warranty surveyors.
Key Requirements:
1. Have a background in Marine Engineering or working experience in the Marine sector
2. Have a deep understanding of offshore construction operations
3. Have deep knowledge of national and international marine regulations and certifications as well as marine industry best practices
4. Good communication and interpersonal skills
5. Fluent in English and Japanese (both spoken and written)
