We have a remote work opportunity for a Project Manager residing in the Central Florida area to join our growing team in Florida. This role focuses on providing technical and project management leadership across various project scales. The Project Manager should possess strong expertise in structural engineering design principles to effectively manage project budgets, schedules, and team resources. Projects range from expansions/modifications of existing buildings to new designs exceeding 800,000 square feet. There are substantial opportunities for career advancement with a well-established structural engineering firm operating for over 50 years.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate information across disciplines to ensure project deliverables meet client expectations and organizational quality standards.
- Guide drafting staff in modeling and detailing contract drawings (LOD 300).
- Provide oversight to engineering staff to ensure tasks are completed, coordinated with other design trades, and comply with code requirements and project standards.
- Manage project budget and schedule to ensure timely delivery meeting client expectations.
- Maintain client relationships through daily project communications.
- Lead client meetings and presentations, serving as the firm's representative in architect and contractor meetings.
- Support department manager and marketing team in business development tasks, including engaging with potential clients and securing new work.
- Develop proposals and fee structures for new projects and additional services.
- Conduct quality control reviews to ensure submissions meet internal and project delivery standards.
- Provide Construction Administration support, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits.
- Provide engineering or project management support for projects outside the primary specialty or for other offices as needed.
What We Are Looking For: Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in building structural design.
- Active Professional Engineer license.
- Proficiency in Revit.
- Familiarity with industry standard software (e.g., Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, etc.).
- Thorough knowledge of commercial building codes and relevant structural design code materials.
- Master of Science in Structural Engineering preferred.
- Active membership in professional and technical societies preferred.
- Previous project management or client management experience is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of building design and construction, particularly in detailing structural steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret applicable codes and apply them to project-specific requirements.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment, manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines effectively.
