We are seeking dedicated and experienced Renewables Electrical Engineers to join a leading consultancy in Melbourne, Australia, with projects in and outside of Australia.
We have two key positions available:
- Junior Electrical HV Engineer (3-4 years of experience)
- Senior Electrical HV Engineer (5+ years of experience)
Both roles will focus on the full project lifecycle of utility-scale renewable projects, with an emphasis on technical expertise and accredited qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Junior Electrical HV Engineer:
- Assist in the design, implementation, and commissioning of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects.
- Support the development of project documentation, including technical reports and drawings.
- Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure project milestones are met.
Senior Electrical HV Engineer:
- Lead the design, implementation, and commissioning of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects.
- Manage full project life cycle from conception to completion, including detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Oversee and mentor junior engineers, with the potential to grow into a team leadership role.
- Ensure projects meet performance warranties and guarantees, negotiating as necessary.
- Maintain accredited status, including National Engineer Register, RPEV (Victoria), RPEQ (Queensland).
- Achieve on-grid solar design accreditation; Chartered status is highly regarded.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project success and compliance with all regulations.
Qualifications
Junior Electrical HV Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3-4 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the renewables sector.
- Experience with C&I projects is acceptable, with a strong desire to transition to utility-scale projects.
- Basic understanding of HV electrical systems and renewable energy technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Senior Electrical HV Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in utility-scale solar and battery storage projects.
- Accredited engineer with National Engineer Register, RPEV (Victoria), RPEQ (Queensland).
- On-grid solar design accreditation; Chartered status is a plus.
- Proven track record of managing full project life cycle.
- Strong negotiation skills, particularly regarding performance warranties and guarantees.
- Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop junior engineers.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to work under pressure.
