We are looking for a Senior Biologist who will play a key role in leading and managing biological assessments, field studies, and environmental impact assessments. The successful candidate will have a strong background in ecology, environmental science, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a hands-on approach to fieldwork, a deep understanding of local ecosystems, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct biological surveys, habitat assessments, and impact analyses.
- Lead and manage field crews in various environmental settings.
- Prepare and review technical reports, including environmental impact assessments.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers, regulatory agencies, and clients to achieve project goals.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting.
- Strong expertise in California flora and fauna.
- Proven experience in leading and managing field studies.
- Excellent knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Professional Biologist) are a plus.
- Experience in mining industry a plus
