LVI Associates are proudly representing a renowned engineering firm with senior roles at their Toronto and Calgary offices. They are looking for experienced engineers with experience working on a range of projects relating to the building envelope, particularly roof work. This engineer must prioritise the quality of their work, as the firm wishes to preserve their excellent reputation and provide only the best for their clients.
For this position in Calgary, the office is still fairly small. However, the managing partners are aiming to invest heavily to build out their presence in the region. This increases the importance of business development for senior figures in the office to support this growth. Candidates should be familiar with the Calgary market and have preexisting relationships with clients.
The firm has grown to over seventy employees between the two offices, and continues to project growth for the future. They emphasise their great culture, and try to ensure that new hires will gel with the team. They work on new build, repair, and historic restoration projects, with a great range of services and sectors. They are particularly looking to bring on another senior figure who is able to generate and maintain business with clients, and oversee projects from start to finish for support due to the company's increased work flow in recent years.
Responsibilities
- Work with a multi-disciplinary team on building envelope projects and work on repairing/restoring any defects or designing new structures.
- Prepare detailed reports on findings, communicating with the rest of the team and clients.
- Work closely with clients to develop effective remediation strategies. Develop
- Undertake site visits and inspections to identify potential issues and hazards.
- Manage projects from start to finish, ensuring that deadlines are met and budgets are adhered to.
- Communicate effectively with directors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering
- 10+ years of relevant experience with proven growth. Consulting experience is highly beneficial. Experience on-site is a must.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Alberta, or RRO/RRC.
- Strong technical, written and verbal communication including strong people management skills and customer service focus.
- Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines, as well as handling budgets.
