Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Designer specializing in Building Information Modeling (BIM) for large-scale infrastructure projects. This role involves leading intelligent modeling efforts, preparing complex design drawings, and ensuring design consistency across multi-discipline teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead teams in preparing intelligent models and detailed drawings of moderate to high complexity.
- Review manufacturers' or fabricators' prints to assist in creating accurate design documents.
- Provide guidance and design sketches to lower-level modeling staff.
- Perform material calculations using industry-standard formulas and tools.
- Ensure intelligent model integrity and consistency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as a Modeling Coordinator to maintain design team coordination on complex projects.
- Cross-check drawings for adherence to quality standards, section placement, and consistency.
- Support field assignments, provide conceptual input during planning stages, and handle related technical tasks (e.g., plotting, transmittals, and simple design calculations).
- Establish design criteria based on fundamental engineering principles and construction procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent with vocational training in CADD drafting and intelligent modeling.
- 15 years of relevant experience in civil works design.
- Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Ability to travel domestically/internationally (up to 5%).
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in Civil 3D.
- Preferred experience with MicroStation and Revit.
- Strong communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work flexibly within a team.
- Advanced knowledge of intelligent modeling technologies and CADD commands.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office for design-related tasks.
