A growing IPP is looking to hire a Senior Director of Engineering to lead their Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The role involves managing the design and construction phases, guiding technology development, and ensuring project success.
Responsibilities
Team Management: Lead and manage a small team of internal staff and external technical consultants
Leadership and Vision: Develop and articulate a strategic vision for the engineering department
Project Design and Construction: Oversee third-party Solar PV and BESS projects, ensuring compliance and provide technical expertise and optimize system design
Resource Management: Collaborate for effective communication and resource planning
Technology Evaluation: Verify new technologies, stay updated, and optimize system design.
Quality Control and Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control/assurance processes.
Compliance and Codes: Stay informed on industry advancements and codes and ensure designs comply with requirements and regulations.
Cost-Effective Design Approaches: Develop cost-effective design approaches and enhance productivity
Supplier Validation: Participate in supplier validation efforts and manage technical support for supply chain activities
Collaboration and Communication:Provide technical support for business development
Qualifications:
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical Preferred)
8 - 12 years renewable engineering experience with PV and/or BESS
In-depth knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations
Proven experience in team management and optimizing system design
Familiarity with the latest renewable energy technologies
PE Preferred
