In this position, you will be responsible for independently executing complex engineering design tasks, preparing specifications, and generating technical reports. Your work will draw upon standard engineering principles and techniques to ensure the successful completion of various project milestones.
**Job Responsibilities:**
- Utilize technical expertise and experience to lead projects, enhancing the overall capabilities of the project team.
- Oversee projects from planning through design and construction phases of wastewater conveyance systems, encompassing pipelines, pump stations, storage, and treatment facilities.
- Spearhead the development of construction documents/specifications and oversee engineering services during construction.
- Ensure adherence to established budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment, including project/task scope, schedule, and budget.
- Coordinate project execution across various disciplines.
- Manage medium to large planning and design projects from inception to completion.
- Prepare comprehensive construction packages, including all deliverables, for engineering, procurement, and construction of wastewater conveyance systems for clients.
- Develop and manage cost estimates and project schedules, ensuring design tasks are completed within budget and on time.
- Conduct detailed engineering calculations, analysis, and utilize design software to address complex issues.
- Supervise and support the work of others, providing mentorship to junior-level engineers and technical staff in design/drafting.
**Education and Qualifications:**
- Possess 10-15 years of experience in planning, designing, and constructing municipal wastewater conveyance systems.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study.
- Demonstrate experience in preparing, reviewing, and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
- Proficient in process design, treatment plant upgrades, and pump station design.
- Exhibit strong client relationship skills, including proposal preparation, development, and management, with a successful track record of delivering engineering projects meeting or exceeding client expectations.
- Capable of data analysis and technical problem-solving.
- Willingness to develop expertise in various engineering-related tasks.
- Ability to train and mentor junior-level staff.
- Demonstrated success in proposal writing and development.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Possess a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
