An award-winning, 100% employee-owned consultant is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Transportation Engineer to join their teams in Montana, Wyoming, Bend (OR), or Spokane (WA). The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in transportation engineering, with a strong background in planning, designing, and managing transportation projects. This position requires active Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in Washington, Oregon, Wyoming, or Montana.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage transportation engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring they meet quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
- Develop and review engineering plans, designs, and specifications for a variety of transportation infrastructure projects including roads, highways, bridges, and transit systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and technical evaluations to support project planning and design efforts.
- Prepare and present project proposals, reports, and technical documentation to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including planners, environmental specialists, and construction managers.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, codes, and regulations.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
- Participate in business development activities, including client engagement, proposal writing, and contract negotiations.
- Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in transportation engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in transportation engineering.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in Washington, Oregon, Wyoming, or Montana.
- Proven experience in project management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Strong technical expertise in transportation design, analysis, and construction methodologies.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and traffic analysis tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical information to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
