Traffic Project Engineer - Irvine, CA
Introduction:
A regional firm is seeking a Traffic Project Engineer/Senior Project Engineer to work on mid to large scale projects on a hybrid schedule out of their Irvine, CA office. The role will be to design and manage municipal and state traffic engineering projects for streets/highways/freeways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform traffic analysis, studies and preliminary engineering, transportation planning, and develop final design plans for traffic signals, ITS, lighting, signing, pavement marking, traffic handling and construction sequencing
- Read and interpret engineering plans, specifications and reports
- Prepares and checks plans, calculations, cost estimates and recommendations
Candidate Qualifications:
- 3+ years of traffic/transportation engineering experience in private or public sector *more senior candidates considered for Senior Project Engineer
- Valid California Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Knowledge of California traffic-related laws, regulations, codes, and commonly-used technical manuals
- Proficient in traffic softwares (Synchro, VISSIM), Bentley products (OpenRoads, InRoads, Microstation), and AutoCAD civil 3D
