Job Description: They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Transportation Planning Project Manager to join their team in Austin. In this role, you will lead and manage transportation planning projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage with clients and stakeholders, and drive the development of innovative solutions to complex transportation challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead and manage transportation planning projects from inception to completion, including project scope, schedule, budget, and quality control.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of planners, engineers, and analysts. Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients. Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Engage with stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and the public, to gather input and build consensus on transportation planning initiatives.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and oversight on transportation planning studies, including traffic impact analysis, corridor studies, multimodal planning, and environmental impact assessments.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all project deliverables meet company standards and client expectations. Conduct regular quality reviews and implement improvements as needed.
- Business Development: Assist in identifying new business opportunities and preparing proposals. Contribute to the growth and development of the transportation planning practice.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Professional certification (e.g., AICP, PMP, PE) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in transportation planning
- Proven experience in managing complex transportation planning projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of transportation planning principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as GIS, AutoCAD, and traffic simulation software.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships and manage stakeholder engagements.
