Professional Land Surveyor
We are working with a client who is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join their team in Denver. This role involves overseeing and performing land surveying tasks such as boundary surveys, topographic mapping, and construction staking. The ideal candidate will ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations while providing expert analysis and documentation of land records and geospatial data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and certify land surveys including boundary, topographic, and construction layout.
- Prepare and review legal descriptions, plats, easements, and survey documents.
- Direct field crews and manage data collection using GPS, total stations, and GIS systems.
- Analyze and resolve discrepancies in survey data, maps, deeds, and other records.
- Maintain and establish survey control networks and monuments.
- Collaborate with engineers, planners, and legal teams on land development and infrastructure projects.
- Ensure all work complies with Colorado state statutes and professional standards.
- Mentor junior survey staff and provide technical guidance.
Qualifications:
- Required: Colorado PLS license (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years of professional surveying experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and survey data processing software.
- Strong understanding of geodetic control, legal land descriptions, and mapping standards.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
