Site Safety Officer

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Site Safety Officer to join their team in Tracy, California. This role is critical to ensuring the highest standards of safety are maintained across their heavy civil construction projects, with a strong emphasis on underground utility work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and enforce site-specific safety programs and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Lead safety meetings and training sessions for site personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and company safety standards.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to promote a culture of safety.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a safety professional in heavy civil construction, specifically with underground utility projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • OSHA 30 certification required; CHST or CSP preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities on active job sites.
