Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director of Events to lead the planning and execution of corporate events, conferences, trade shows, experiential activations, and special events. This role will oversee event strategy, client relationships, team leadership, budgeting, and operational excellence while ensuring successful event delivery and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of multiple events from concept through completion.
- Manage client relationships and serve as a senior point of contact.
- Oversee event budgets, forecasting, profitability, and vendor negotiations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop event managers, producers, and coordinators.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Collaborate with sales, creative, production, and operations teams.
- Support new business pitches, proposals, and account growth opportunities.
- Implement and improve event processes, systems, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of event management experience within an agency, production company, or corporate events environment.
- 3+ years of team leadership experience.
- Strong background managing conferences, trade shows, meetings, or experiential events.
- Proven budgeting, client management, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Preferred Experience
- Association events, trade shows, and conference management.
- Experiential marketing or live events experience.
- CMP, CSEP, or other industry certifications.
