 Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 annually 
About the Role
LVI is partnered with a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy who is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join its team. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative and supportive environment, contributing to projects that shape the built environment and improve community infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and log geotechnical field investigations including borings, test pits, and cone penetration tests (CPTs).
- Develop laboratory and field testing programs tailored to project needs.
- Prepare engineering reports, including analysis of field and lab data, and creation of figures and drawings.
- Conduct geotechnical analyses such as slope stability, settlement and consolidation, deep and mat foundation design, ground improvement techniques (e.g., grouting, freezing), and liquefaction assessments.
- Manage multiple projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination.
- Provide oversight during foundation-related construction activities in urban environments.
- Conduct special inspections during construction phases, including subgrade evaluation, fill placement, density testing, and deep foundation installation.
- Experience with underpinning and excavation support systems is advantageous.
Essential Requirements
- 8-12 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree with a geotechnical focus preferred.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed, with flexibility for occasional overtime or weekend work.
- OSHA 10-hour or 40-hour HAZWOPER training is a plus.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software such as AutoCAD, gINT, LPile, APile, GRLWEAP, Slide, PLAXIS, and other advanced modelling tools.
Compensation
Salary will be commensurate with experience, ranging from $120,000 to $150,000 annually.
