Construction Department Director
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the construction services department, including inspection, materials testing, and construction administration.
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers, inspectors, and technicians, promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee project execution to ensure compliance with client specifications, regulatory standards, and safety protocols.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and public agencies.
- Collaborate with other department leaders to support multidisciplinary projects and business development efforts.
- Monitor financial performance, resource allocation, and operational efficiency across all construction services projects.
- Lead proposal development, contract negotiations, and project scoping for new opportunities.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure the firm remains at the forefront of construction services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Indiana or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction engineering and inspection, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects.
- Strong understanding of INDOT standards and procedures is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
