Location: Sumner, WA
Compensation: $135,000-$175,000 base salary, plus bonus potential
A well-established general contractor with a strong presence in heavy civil construction is seeking a Project Manager to lead infrastructure projects in the Sumner and greater Puget Sound area. This role is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring safety, schedule, quality, and financial objectives are met.
This opportunity is well suited for a seasoned construction professional who enjoys leading teams, owning outcomes, and delivering complex heavy civil work including earthwork, utilities, roadway, and site development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage heavy civil construction projects from award through completion
- Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution
- Coordinate closely with Superintendents to drive field productivity and safety
- Oversee subcontractor performance, contracts, and change management
- Track job costs, forecasts, and overall project profitability
- Maintain communication with owners, engineers, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, contract requirements, and company procedures
- Support project closeout and final documentation
Experience Needed
- 5-10+ years of experience managing heavy civil construction projects
- Background in earthwork, underground utilities, roadway, and/or site development
- Proven experience managing subcontractors, schedules, and job costs
- Track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget
- Experience working for a general contractor preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong understanding of job cost reporting, forecasting, and contract administration
- Ability to lead project teams and coordinate between office and field operations
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of heavy civil safety standards and regulatory requirements
- PMP, CCM, or similar certifications are a plus but not required
