The Opportunity
Looking for a Senior Structural Engineer (PE) to join our client's structural engineering group. This role offers a high level of technical ownership, independent engineering responsibility, and the opportunity to serve as Engineer of Record on complex telecommunications infrastructure projects nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as technical lead and Engineer of Record for structural evaluation, analysis, and design of telecom infrastructure.
Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects across varying markets and site conditions.
Review, approve, and stamp structural calculations, technical reports, and construction drawings.
Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and QA/QC oversight to junior engineering staff.
Coordinate with project managers, designers, clients, and construction teams to resolve design and constructability challenges.
Prepare and maintain accurate, timely documentation of engineering deliverables.
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, municipalities, and internal teams.
Perform occasional site visits and field inspections, including outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
Ensure strict compliance with project scopes, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Adapt to new technologies, codes, and evolving project demands.
Support critical deadlines with additional effort when required while maintaining professional accountability.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution
(Master's degree preferred).
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required
(Structural Engineer [SE] license strongly preferred).
6+ years of progressive structural engineering experience, with significant exposure to telecommunications / wireless infrastructure.
Demonstrated experience in structural analysis and design of:
Towers, mounts, and antenna structures
Rooftop installations
Water tanks and related support structures
Strong technical knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation systems.
Familiarity with antennas, mounts, fiber systems, and carrier-related infrastructure.
Proficiency with industry software, including:
TNX Tower and RISA 3D (required)
Enercalc, PLS‑Caisson, and Bluebeam (preferred)
Advanced experience with AutoCAD and construction drawing preparation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
