Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of electrical and control systems for industrial and regulated‑environment projects. This role involves direct collaboration with clients, internal engineers, and designers to define requirements, develop technical solutions, and support projects through installation, testing, and commissioning. The position supports low‑voltage power and control systems (480 VAC and below) and may include team leadership, project management, and proposal support responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and specify electrical power and control systems including motor circuits, power distribution, MCCs, and related equipment up to 480 VAC
  • Develop and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts
  • Apply hazardous area classification and design requirements, including Class I Division 1 and Division 2
  • Specify and support instrumentation selection, wiring, calibration, and troubleshooting
  • Provide technical oversight during fabrication, installation, checkout, startup, and commissioning
  • Participate in factory testing and field acceptance activities as required
  • Prepare final documentation and deliver system training to end users
  • Lead or support project execution activities including scope development, scheduling, task assignment, and quality control
  • Develop cost estimates, support proposal efforts, and manage scope changes
  • Coordinate purchasing and subcontractor activities for assigned projects
  • Track progress, manage budgets, and ensure projects meet schedule and quality targets
  • Serve as technical lead or project manager on multiple concurrent projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience in electrical and control system design, integration, and commissioning
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and applicable national, state, and local electrical codes
  • Experience delivering projects in industries such as life sciences, building automation, food and beverage, oil and gas, or mining
  • Familiarity with control panel design, specifications, and contractor installation standards
  • Experience preparing technical specifications, reviewing vendor documentation, and supporting construction activities
  • Ability to independently manage complex engineering tasks and multiple projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for client, contractor, and team interaction
  • Experience with PLC programming and AutoCAD is preferred
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25%
