The Opportunity:
My client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design of electrical systems for a variety of building projects, including healthcare, academic, industrial, and commercial facilities. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to high-profile projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, life safety, and security systems, for new construction and modernization projects.
- Develop calculations for lighting systems and associated controls.
- Lead project teams and serve as the primary contact for electrical engineering disciplines.
- Perform QA/QC reviews and prepare detailed design documents.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Coordinate work across multiple disciplines to ensure project success.
- Support business development efforts by cultivating client relationships and participating in project interviews.
You Will Be a Great Fit If You Have:
- 12+ years of electrical engineering experience in the AEC industry.
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland, DC, and/or Virginia, with the capability to obtain licensure in other states.
- LEED certification or experience (a plus).
- Experience with laboratory and medical facility design (preferred).
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
- Familiarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines.
- Excellent work ethic and attitude.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Ability to plan, balance, and prioritize work effectively.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
