Position Summary
The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for leading the mechanical engineering aspects of water infrastructure projects from concept through to commissioning. This role involves technical leadership, design coordination, procurement, and site support, ensuring successful delivery of mechanical systems within multidisciplinary project environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design and engineering for water and wastewater treatment facilities, including pumps, valves, pipework, and associated equipment.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation including specifications, drawings, and datasheets.
  • Manage procurement of mechanical equipment and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and budgeting in collaboration with project managers.
  • Oversee mechanical installation, testing, and commissioning activities on site.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, WHS regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Interface with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities to resolve technical issues and ensure project alignment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the water, wastewater, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in Design & Construct project environments.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems used in water treatment and pumping applications.
  • Proficiency in engineering design tools and project management software.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or actively working towards it is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
