Senior Renewable Electrical Engineer
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering activities for solar photovoltaic, battery energy storage, and microgrid systems, including standalone and co‑located installations ranging from 5 MW to over 100 MW
- Provide technical support to clients evaluating renewable generation and grid interconnection strategies
- Produce, review, and approve electrical engineering deliverables such as plans, specifications, one‑line diagrams, and construction documentation
- Conduct and supervise electrical analyses including power flow, fault current, grounding, arc flash, conductor sizing, and protective device coordination
- Lead and coordinate electrical design personnel across multiple offices and project locations
- Assess and select electrical equipment to ensure performance, safety, and code compliance
- Oversee electrical scope execution, including scheduling, staffing, budget considerations, and quality control
- Clearly communicate design intent, risks, and progress updates to project stakeholders, clients, and equipment vendors
- Visit project sites as needed (approximately 10% travel) to support verification, data collection, and coordination activities
Required Qualifications
Education & Professional Background
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Minimum of 8 years of experience supporting renewable or utility‑scale power projects
- PE or EIT or ability to obtain a PE license in a reasonable timeframe
Technical & Interpersonal Skills
- Working proficiency with AutoCAD, PVsyst, SKM, ETAP, and SEL relay platforms
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for varied audiences
- Demonstrated capability managing multiple concurrent tasks and project priorities
- Desire to stay current with evolving renewable energy technologies, standards, and best practices
